Tirilye Olive Blossom Festival, organized by Mudanya Municipality for the first time this year, will bring together the historical streets of Tirilye with the odor of olives, art, music and enthusiasm between May 31 and June 1.

The culture of olive cultivation, which has been a way of life in Mudanya for centuries, is being carried into the future with the Tirilye Olive Blossom Festival. The festival, organized for the first time this year by the Mudanya Municipality, will be held in Tirilye, famous for its olives, between May 31 and June 1, when the olive trees are in bloom.

Emphasizing that the Olive Blossom Festival is an important step reflecting the cultural richness and productive labor of Mudanya, the Mayor of Mudanya Deniz Dalgıç invited all citizens to the festival. Dalgıç said, “The olive blossom symbolizes the fertility of the soil, the generosity of nature and the labor of our producers throughout the year. With this festival, we are not only keeping a product alive, but also a lifestyle and a culture and passing it on to the future. I invite all our citizens to Tirilye between May 31 and June 1, to this unique event.”

“WE ARE WAITING FOR YOU AT THE HOME OF OLIVE”
The festival, organized with the motto “We are waiting for you at the home of olive”, will open with a parade that will start in front of the Tirilye Cultural Center at 12:00 on Saturday, May 31. The parade , which will be held with the participation of producers, NGOs and the citizens, will extend to the coast and bring a festival atmosphere to the streets of Tirilye. Local producers’ stands to be set up in Tirilye during two days will exhibit olives and olive oil, as well as local delicacies, handicrafts and natural products. Visitors will have the opportunity to purchase products directly from the producers.

WORKSHOPS, TALKS AND OLIVE ROUTE
Activities that will appeal to visitors of all ages will also increase the festival excitement. Workshops for kids and adults will include olive flower painting, soap making, ceramics and kite making. Kite festival, theater and folk dance shows will add a carnival atmosphere to the streets of Tirilye. In the talks to be held on olives and olive cultivation, experts in the field will share their views on higher quality and sustainable production. One of the most special stops of the festival will be the “Olive Route”. Participants who complete the hiking route that includes the historical and natural beauties of Tirilye will be given olive seedlings as a gift.

JAZZ IN TİRİLYE WITH KEREM GÖRSEV
The evening programs of the festival will be crowned with music. The night program, which will start with concerts of various performers on the first day, will turn into an unforgettable finale with the stage of jazz music master Kerem Görsev on the evening of June 1.

FREE SHUTTLES
Mudanya Municipality will provide free shuttle service from Mudanya center to Tirilye for citizens to easily reach the festival area. The shuttle, which will depart from the old trade center of the municipality, will make a ring service between Mudanya and Tirilye for two days.
